Pak-India set for Kartarpur talks on April 16

"We have reliable intelligence that between 16th and 20th April, India may carry out an attack against Pakistan", said the foreign minister at a news conference in Multan on Sunday. The ministry added that the "public gimmick" was a call to Pakistan-based terrorists to undertake a terror attack in India.

Pakistan foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has alleged that India is planning another military attack against Pakistan in the coming weeks.

"We have reliable intelligence that India has made a new scheme and the planning is under way and there are chances of another aggression against Pakistan and according to our information this action can take place between April 16 and 20", he said.

She regretted that on the one hand, the foreign minister was saying that India could attack the country and, on the other, the government was releasing 350 Indian fishermen.

"The objective of such a sinister plan is to put diplomatic pressure on Pakistan", he added.

Mr Qureshi, who is also the vice-chairman of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), had feared that a new incident like Pulwama suicide attack might be staged in India-held Kashmir to use it to increase diplomatic pressure on Pakistan and justify Indian aggression.

Twelve days later, on February 26, the Indian Air Force conducted a "surgical strike" on a JeM training camp in Balakot in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunwa province. A Pakistan foreign ministry report on evidence provided by India raised further doubts about the veracity of the intelligence.

Later on Sunday evening, Pakistan summoned Indian deputy high commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia to warn New Delhi against "any misadventure", Pakistani Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Faisal said in a Tweet. Another attack on Pakistan will most certainly help the fortunes of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has nearly exclusively been campaigning on the plank of "national security" and "nationalism".

Without prolonging the issue or throwing red-herring into the matter, Pakistan accepted the Indian proposal.

Pakistan detained dozens of suspected militants after the Kashmir attack, including relatives of Masood Azhar, the founder of the group that claimed the attack.

Pakistani authorities have handed over 100 detained Indian fishermen to their country's officials at the Wahga border crossing.
