Some Reports have been suggesting that the iPhone's in 2020 which will be the iPhone 12 will be sporting an OLED Display even in the R (Lite) Version of the phone, a new display will allow the company various options for the design, so most probably Apple will be changing the design of these iPhones in 2020 with the iPhone 12. Removing the feature allows Apple to round off the corners and make the XR resemble its 2018 counterparts. Following the price cut, the iPhone XR now starts at Rs. 59,900 on for the 64GB base model. The Cupertino giant, after announcing 6% price cuts on the entire iPhone range in China, has announced a much larger - 22% - price cut for the iPhone XR in India. Apple just slashed prices on its cheaper flagship phone, the iPhone XR, which is available in the USA at $749, by around 25%, as initially reported by the Economic Times. In February, for example, in the wake of Valentine's Day, Apple had offered an Rs 5,300 discount on its iPhone XR models through select Apple authorized retail stores.

Apple iPhone XR will be available at a special discounted price under a limited period promotional offer in partnership with HDFC Bank. However, the high launch price meant that customers shied away from the handset and instead ended up buying a cheaper Android device. The iPhone XR offers more screen estate than the XS as it features a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina Display.

With the global smartphone market saturating, Apple is naturally turning to new territories to find growth, although it has had little success so far.

Some suggest that the pricing is a "short-term promotional offer" to encourage sales and test the waters in the market, a territory where Apple has struggled to make a significant impact in recent years.
