Look, obviously Westbrook is in the wrong here for lobbing verbal threats both at the man and woman. Westbrook walked toward some fans and yelled obscenities at them.

"I swear to god, I'll [expletive] you up". After that incident, Westbrook told reporters: "I don't confront fans, fans confront me".

Five Utah Jazz fans received "warning cards" that their comments, gestures and/or behaviors directed at players were in violation of the NBA Fan Code of Conduct, but were able to return to their seats after their altercation with Russell Westbrook.

Fans responded with a "Westbrook sucks!" chant, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon. "And then there are people that come to the game to say disrespectful things about me, my family".

The Thunder, with the win to complete a season sweep of the Jazz, improve to 41-26 and keep up their pursuit behind the 42-25 Houston Rockets for third spot in the Western Conference playoff standings.

"I just think there's got to be something done", Westbrook said. I mean, [Jazz fans] were trying to get into our heads any way they can, but I couldn't believe anybody would stoop that low. So I'm like...well, you're going to need it. "If I had to do it over again, I would say the same exact thing". Given the organization's track record, I fully expect they'll do so.

"I'm going to tell you one thing: I'll f*** him up if he says that s***again". Never been in any domestic violence before.

The fan, Shane Keisel, spoke to CNN affiliate KSL, saying he did not swear and that he had in fact told the point guard to "ice his knees". "So that's kind of how that started", Westbrook explained.

"I know you guys only got the tail end of the video, but the start of the video is way more important and way more disrespectful than what you guys heard", Westbrook said. There's got to be something done. She never stood up.

'Initially I was like: "Oh, I'm talking with Westbrook, the guy's one of the greats".

The Utah Jazz have permanently banned a fan who provoked a social media firestorm after a heated and apparently racist exchange with Russell Westbrook, the team announced Tuesday.

The Jazz, in a statement, said they had investigated the incident through video review and eyewitness accounts and made a decision to ban "the fan who engaged in the inappropriate interaction".

During the first half of the Thunder's 98-89 win on Monday, Westbrook was caught on video turning and pointing to a fan seated courtside at Vivint Smart Home Arena. Thunder players Patrick Patterson and Raymond Felton confirmed his story, and multiple parties indicated that Keisel's dialogue throughout the night had racist undertones.

I'm exhausted of going out and playing and letting the fans say whatever the hell they want to say. They don't get it done without him. Clearly, more than that needs to be done to protect the players. It's truly disrespectful. Talk about your families, your kids.

Thunder: In his three previous games against the Jazz this season, George averaged 39.7 points on 60.6 per cent shooting, 8.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.
