The foldable screen mirrors the display so the subject can see how they look in real-time. In a drastic design and technology update which pushes the entire lineup further into the future, Galaxy S10 series boasts extraordinary features, including a super secure on-screen fingerprint scan, multi pro-grade cameras, a cinematic infinity display, wireless powershare and computer-size amounts of storage capacity. The two screens on the new V50ThinQ work independently so a user can watch a film on one screen while browsing the internet on the other. "In the folded mode, the front display measures 6.6" and a resolution of 2,480 x 1,148p, while the rear measures 6.3" with a 2,480 x 1,052p resolution.

By default, the Mate X is an 8-inch tablet. Closed, the rear comes in at 2480 x 892, while the front is slightly denser at 2480 x 1148 pixels. If you activate that black bar, the top bezel of the smartphone will essentially seem thicker than the bottom one, quite a bit thicker, actually.

Huawei is calling it the Falcon Wing Design and says the patented hinge has over 100 components. On these metrics, it beats out Samsung's version which Huawei had no trouble with pointing out. It's to be noted that the devices that were presented were still early designs - so Huawei might be able to iterate here and provide something more robust in commercial units.

LG Electronics' president and head of mobile, Kwon Bong-seok, said recently that the brand wouldn't be doing anything dramatic as it looks to re-establish itself in the smartphone market - but also reiterated that LG was ready to go with a flexible phone when the opportunity was right. There's a massive 4500mAh battery inside the device. Because there's two batteries, they can be charged at the same time at high charging rates. Huawei claims the new SuperCharge will allow you to charge the device from empty to 85% in just 30 minutes! At its thinnest, the Mate X is 5.4mm.

"We want it to be accessible to virtually any consumer out there", Gerdon added.

Debatably more a tablet than a phone, the Mate X appears to outdo Samsung by having three displays - the largest of which is 8in, has no notch impediment and is edge to edge. The first thing that jumped out was just how thin the device really is.

What do you think of the new Mate X? Like the Samsung Galaxy Fold revealed last week, the Mate X transforms from the form-factor of a regular, everyday smartphone to a significantly larger device, similar in scale to a tablet yet arguably more manageable in the hand.

The phone includes the company's 7nm Balong 5000 5G modem. We're not sure if the phone supports mmWave connectivity.

Huawei's CEO, Richard Yu, wasted no time in his keynote to start mocking Apple and Samsung at every turn.
