Iman Shumpert Traded to Rockets in Three-Team Deal

SACRAMENTO -Two people with knowledge of the deal tell the Associated Press that Houston, Sacramento and Cleveland are finishing a trade that will most notably send Iman Shumpert from the Kings to the Rockets. In the deal to land Shumpert, the team also acquired Wade Baldwin and Nik Stauskas from the Cavaliers.

The Rockets will send point and shooting guard Brandon Knight, power forward and center Marquese Chriss to the Cavaliers, according to Wojnarowski.

Houston has struggled to replace the void left by Trevor Ariza and Shumpert is a player with championship experience from his time playing with LeBron James and the Cavs. He's set to make $15.6 million next season. The Cavs made the move strictly for the draft pick, absorbing salary to do it. Shumpert is a free agent after this season, so they procure a pick rather than risk him walk away for nothing.

Jackson averaged 6.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 52 games (three starts) with Sacramento this season. He was traded to the Rockets but has played in just 12 games this year. He flipped Burks for a first-round pick.

In Cleveland's fourth in-season trade, the team has now gathered two first-round and six second-round picks. This is the manuevering the Cavs need during their rebuild.

Knight, Chriss and the first rounder are headed to Cleveland.
