Celtics rumors: Kyrie Irving isn’t reuniting with LeBron James

Recently though, after Kyrie called LeBron James for advice on how to be a better leader, rumors circulated that Kyrie might be going to Los Angeles at the end of the season.

The Celtics haven't changed their feelings on Irving, and they consider him part of their long-term core; and Irving hasn't informed the team that his feelings have changed, multiple sources said.

While the latest report indicates that the Celtics aren't anxious at all about Irving leaving town, there are plenty of other reports that indicate otherwise.

The Celtics would be taking a huge risk by paying a king's ransom for Davis if he doesn't intend to sign a contract extension with Boston. The Warriors beat the Lakers by 130-111 just a couple of weeks ago and I think they bounce back from their rare loss on Thursday with a statement win at home. "That is for real", the source said.

If Irving were traded, it wouldn't be the first time in his career.

Signing Irving and then trading for Davis in the summer would financially be an easier path for the Lakers, but also become problematic as the Celtics could enter the picture in a potential Davis trade come July 1.

With New Orleans Pelicans' superstar Anthony Davis requesting a trade this week, there could be more big names on the move around the National Basketball Association.

One of the concerns of the Pelicans forward is said to be the future of Irving, who despite saying that he will re-sign with the Celtics when he enters free agency in the summer continues to be linked with a move away.

This could be one hope for the Lakers - that the Pelicans believe the Celtics might never get the chance to make their best offer, and at least consider what the Lakers might offer now. They'll have the option of trading the 6-foot-11 big man to the Celtics over the summer (they can't trade for him now unless they get rid of Irving due to National Basketball Association rules). League sources believe they have "a strong chance" of luring Durant should he leave the Golden State Warriors this summer and that Davis is "open" to NY as a landing place as well.

The Celtics have won seven of their past eight games.
