EPL: Paul Merson advises Hudson-Odoi on leaving Chelsea for Bayern Munich

The 18-year-old had refused to commit himself to Maurizio Sarri's side due to concerns over his lack of playing time in the first team, but Merson wants the winger to be patient with the Blues manager, Maurizio Sarri.

Bayern Munich are turning up the heat in their pursuit of Callum Hudson-Odoi after sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed their interest in signing him.

Most fans are desperate to see the youngster get more action - and some will be even happier to hear that there's a chance he'll be pushing Willian out of the team very soon.

'In the last match he played very well and today very well.

The 31-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season, with British media reporting the player is close to securing a move to AS Monaco this month.

"We were in control of the match, we defended very well against opponents who are very risky in the offensive phase, I think we deserved more".

"Yesterday he had a free day for the injury but I don't know (if he is going to Monaco)". No because I am not in charge of these questions and don't want to speak to a player on something that doesn't depend on me.

"He's a very interesting player whom we absolutely want to sign", Salihamidžić told Bild, whilst also confirming the signing of Benjamin Pavard.

But Sarri said his team deserved better, labelling their performance "one of the most important" of the season.

"Chelsea I think will extend two of those deals, they would like to extend two of those three deals". He can play but of course, sometimes he will be on the bench, like Willian or Pedro, but now I can start to consider him at the same level.

"We are lucky because our academy is very good".

Chelsea fear they are fighting a losing battle in their bid to keep Callum Hudson-Odoi, despite the winger being handed a surprise start in the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg against Tottenham Hotspur. I can say only my opinion, I don't know the decision of the club.
