Bulls Waive Cam Payne, Want To Find New Destination For MarShon Brooks

By InsideHoops.com January 4, 2019 The Chicago Bulls late Thursday evening completed a trade with the Grizzlies, sending forward Justin Holiday to Memphis in return for guard MarShon Brooks and guard/forward Wayne Selden Jr.

Brooks averaged 6.6 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 10.3 FanDuel points per game this season.

Prior to Saturday night's Pacers matchup, Hutchison is averaging 8.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 turnovers per 36 minutes.

The Memphis Grizzlies have acquired wing Justin Holiday from the Chicago Bulls. Selden was a part of the regular rotation in Memphis for most of the season, but his workload had fallen off over the past month.

The Chicago Tribune reported in the wake of the deal that the Bulls still have small forward Jabari Parker and center Robin Lopez on the trade market.

Brooks, the No. 25 pick by the Celtics in 2011, is averaging 6.6 points in 29 games. The Bulls will hold two second-round picks in 2020.

"Justin was my guy.he's helped me alot through learning, y'know playing similar positions so, it's tough to see that but we all gotta be ready and it's the next man up type of deal".

Chicago reportedly doesn't plan to have Brooks report to the team, nor do they plan on waiving him immediately.

Payne, 24, was drafted 14th overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2015 and was traded to the Bulls last February.

So guess what the response was to the report of the second and very real MarShon Brooks trade?

This season, he made 29 appearances with the Grizzlies.
