New Game Of Thrones Season 8 Teaser Points To An Epic Showdown

The teaser was first shown at a "Game of Thrones" panel at Comic Con Experience (CCXP) in Brazil.

We're just four months away from "Game of Thrones'" final season premiere, and the show's "newest teaser" just might hold us over.

As the ice and fire move closer, a few other kingdoms seem to get caught in their destructive path. In the season finale past year, the Night King rode on the undead dragon Viserion as he broke down a section of the wall with the White Walker army marching down south.

The battle would be intense as the teaser shows a dragon and a direwolf being overtaken by ice and a lion getting consumed by fire.

Based on the "painted table" map of Westeros that sits in the plotting chamber of Dragonstone, the tease manages to create a palpable sense of excitement while not showing any actual characters.

Though there's no new footage of the show, we see an intense war waging between ice and fire.

Williams asked Weiss and Benioff when they first figured out how the epic fantasy series would end, and the creators revealed that the plan came together at the end of the third season. But the story of Game of Thrones has always been about fire and ice, be it White Walkers and Targaryens, or aunts and nephews who may unite the kingdom by being in accidentally incestuous relationships.

"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO in April.

Get your scheming shoes on, Game of Thrones fans.
