The company says that the problem can present itself as a display failing to respond to touches, or acting as if it had been touched when in fact it hadn't.

If you're an iPhone X owner, you could well be one of the unlucky people who has experienced a ghost touch problem with the screen.

CNET reports that Apples authorized resellers will mostly be stocking the retailer and non-approved sellers will not be able to send Apple products to Amazon warehouses after December 1 as part of the deal.

Apple recommends that users backup their iPhone X to iTunes or iCloud before handing over their device for fix.

Last year, Apple began a massive battery replacement program after it conceded that a software update meant to help some iPhone models deal with aging batteries slowed down the performance of the phones.

While this new agreement won't cover every currently-offered Apple device, it will include a lot of them.

Next up is a problem that seems to affect a specific range of 13-inch MacBook Pros - those without the Touch Bar, sold between June 2017 and June 2018, with either 128GB or 256GB of internal SSD storage on board.

Regarding the iPhone X - which was discontinued in September - Apple states that it has uncovered that some screens "experience touch issues due to a component that might fail on the display module".

Apple has announced that it has found issues affecting some of its iPhone X and 13-inch MacBook Pro products, and said the company would fix them free of charge. An additional source of angst was Apple's decision to stop reporting the unit sales of phones, given that its long-term focus is shifting toward service-based revenue and away from hardware.

For the 13-inch MacBook Pro, Apple said some devices might have an issue that causes data loss or drive failure.

This program covers affected MacBook Pro models for 3 years from the date of purchase.
