India vs West Indies 1st ODI: Everything you need to know

Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma conjured up breathtaking centuries as hosts' ruthless domination over the West Indies continued in a eight-wicket win in the first One-day worldwide on Sunday.

Rohit Sharma was next to complete his fifty off 51 deliveries.

This was also Hetmyer's third century in ODIs and he has taken only 13 innings to do so, thus becoming the fastest West Indian to reach there. Whenever he gets there, Kohli will be the fastest to do so and again beat Tendulkar to the record.

"We enjoy watching them (Rohit and Kohli) bat, they are two legends of the game, (smiles) at times we feel they are playing PS4", he said.

"Among the top three, I've preferred the anchor role, but today I felt good and I communicated with Rohit that he should play the anchor role".

After losing Shikhar Dhawan's wicket early, the two started picking the West Indies bowling apart. They played according to the situation. After a shoddy performance in the Test series, the batsmen got their acts together and on the back of a stroke-filled century by Shimron Hetmyer, they posted 322 runs.

The next ODI will be played at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. Up front we were obviously looking for wickets because we felt that that was the only way to win the game. The flamboyant opener likes to score daddy hundreds and once he gets going in his topmost gear, it is hard to put a break on his ride. But, while Kohli has 14 centuries in 50 innings, Ponting took 220 innings to compile 22 centuries.

Guwahati: Overwhelmed by the sheer domination of Indian batsmen at home, West Indies skipper Jason Holder on Sunday said "you never know what's the par score for a team like India".
