‘Love’ working with Trump, says Saudi crown prince

Trump made the comments at a rally in MS on Tuesday. "But I said 'King - we're protecting you - you might not be there for two weeks without us- you have to pay for your military '", Trump said.

It's a theme he's been sounding for years, tweeting in March 2015 that if Saudi Arabia "wants our help and protection, they must pay dearly!" At a MS campaign rally on Wednesday, Trump took a jab at Riyadh and said the country would not last "two weeks" if Washington withdrew its military support.

In his comments about King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Trump appeared to be referring to a telephone call a week ago between the two leaders.

The Crown Prince said his country will privatize more than 20 companies in 2019, helping the government's strategy of diversifying away from oil exports.

"We never in the history of Saudi Arabia decided that this is the right or wrong oil price", said Prince Mohammed, 33, in the interview.

Khashoggi, who has been missing since he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, had been banned from writing in the pan-Arab Al-Hayat newspaper following his defence of the Muslim Brotherhood, which Riyadh has blacklisted as a terror organisation.

"We protect Saudi Arabia".

That money would come from the sale of a stake in Saudi Basic Industries Corp (Sabic) and the initial public offering (IPO) of state oil company Saudi Arabian Oil Co (Aramco), according to PIF chairman Crown Prince Mohammed Salman.

When asked about the matter, the crown prince told Bloomberg that the kingdom had existed for 30 more years than the United States, after being founded in 1744. When Trump arrived in Riyadh in May 2017, jets flew overhead as King Salman met him at the airport. It was not the first time that Trump had criticised Saudi Arabia over the issue. At the same time, the relationship places pressure on the king to boost oil supplies. Althaydi has published several papers on political Islam and social history of Saudi Arabia. The OPEC+ coalition spans other GCC producers like the United Arab Emirates, as well as countries outside OPEC such as Russian Federation.

He added that there was a difference between what Trump said and the country's dispute with Canada over the kingdom's treatment of activists. Saudi Arabia and Germany last month agreed to end a dispute sparked by German accusations of undue Saudi influence over Lebanon, after the German Foreign Ministry said it regretted the misunderstanding. And Saudi Arabia and OPEC and non-OPEC countries, they've produced 1.5 million barrels a day.

Britain said on Sunday it was "working urgently" to verify the "extremely serious" allegations surrounding Khashoggi, who has been critical of some of Prince Mohammed's policies and of Riyadh's intervention in the Yemen war.

"The 33-year-old crown prince went on to say that Saudi Arabia had agreed to buy $110 billion worth of U.S. weapons and signed investment deals worth billions more, some "$400 billion" in total, since Trump took office in early 2017, and described the deals as "a good achievement" for Trump.

Pressed on how he would regard Trump's humiliating rhetoric against Saudi Arabia, the crown prince described the controversial remarks as a "bad issue" offset by "99 percent of good things".
