George W. Bush's daughter Barbara gets married in secret ceremony

Barbara Bush, the daughter of former US President George W Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush, has got married in a private ceremony in Maine. It was just like her: "private (only family!) and full of love (and yes lots of tears!)", Bush's twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, captioned a photo.

Dorothy Bush Koch, the bride's aunt, officiated the wedding.

Bush described her nuptials as "a very short, sweet ceremony".

And some details: "The bride wore an ivory silk crepe Vera Wang custom gown and was escorted by her father and grandfather". It was a bracelet her grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush gave his wife on their 70th wedding anniversary, Hager said, according to The AP.

Barbara's twin sister, Jenna, served as matron of honor. Poppy also served as ring bearer. "And at one point we were all praying and Poppy ran and nearly tackled Barbara and gave her a huge hug".

The secret wedding following a whirlwind five-week engagement, with Coyne, a screenwriter, having popped the question during a sunset walk along the beach. Coyne appeared in 2005's hit "Jarhead", and has since shown up in a string of indie projects, including "Look at Me" and "The Snowtown Murders". "And we've been long-distance for most of it - he's been in LA and I've been in NY - but we've gotten to spend a lot of time together", the bride said, according to People.

Coyne proposed in the same spot Barbara's grandparents became engaged 75 years ago.

Sounding emotional on the phone, Jenna also revealed exactly what she said during a toast to her sister during the big day and the touching gesture for her recently deceased grandmother, Barbara, after whom her sister is named. "And we've been long-distance for most of it - he's been in LA and I've been in NY - but we've gotten to spend a lot of time together".
