The day the news of Grande and Miller's breakup broke, the rapper was involved in a vehicle crash while under the influence, which first kickstarted hate for Grande.

Grande and Miller started seeing each other in 2016, three years after they first worked together on Grande's hit debut single "My Way".

But she was forced to break up with him for her own mental wellbeing when he kept relapsing, in what she later called a "toxic relationship".

Two weeks before her Twitter rant, Ariana had posted a supportive message for Mac in the wake of their split.

"I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety and prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course)". "It's a awful situation, it's bad enough that Ariana is suffering the trauma of losing somebody she cared deeply about, but then to be blamed for his death is just despicable, it's such a low blow and totally unwarranted", the source continued.

His family confirmed his death in a statement, calling the rapper born as Malcolm McCormick "a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans".

"To those trolling [Ariana Grande]: you aren't making yourself feel better". She captioned the photo with a broken heart emoji. She explained that she's not a babysitter and the relationship was very hard due to the ups and downs of Mac's addictions. He told the crowd: "I swear, life is so f***ing fragile".

In 2011, Miller wrote a song about becoming fabulously wealthy and, seeking a metaphor, entitled the song "Donald Trump".

Their relationship was soon tested when, on May 22 2017, a suicide bomber detonated a homemade device at Ari's concert in the Manchester Arena, killing 22 of her young fans and maiming scores more.

The singer shared a sweet picture where the rapper is both looking at her and the sky as he sits on the grass.

Jaden Smith tweeted: "Long Live Mac Miller, Rest In Peace We Love You", while Drake wrote "rest easy Mac" on Instagram. Let's rise above the negativity and keep Miller's family, friends, and Ariana in our prayers.
