Speaking to the BBC after the game, Maurizio Sarri reflected: "I'm really very happy with my players".

Late goals from Pedro and Eden Hazard have earned Chelsea a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth in Saturday's Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

For all their dominance of the ball - they averaged over 70 per cent of the possession - Chelsea often looked to be running out of ideas against a Bournemouth side not renowned for defending.

Back-to-back wins over Cardiff and West Ham were followed by a 2-2 comeback draw with Everton last weekend so the Cherries will be desperate to maintain their unbeaten record against Chelsea tomorrow.

Discussing the Bournemouth win in general, Sarri said: "I am happy with the result and the performance".

Chelsea remained in the ascendancy as the first half progressed with Willian dragging a shot marginally wide of Asmir Begovic's post, but the best opportunity of the opening 45 minutes went to the visitors.

"We have had good games against Chelsea and have really enjoyed them". Maybe we needed to move the ball at another speed, and maybe more movements without the ball.

"This kind of match usually you can win in the last 20-25 minutes", he added.

"We are at the beginning of the season, and the gap between us and Man City was 30 points last season - it's hard to close that gap in one season".

However, his apparent inability to make himself useful or risky in other ways is not what Chelsea had in mind when they set a club transfer record to prise him from Real Madrid last summer. Giroud is no more the solution to Chelsea's striker problems, but his superior all-round contribution against stubborn opponents means Sarri faces a big decision.

"We won the first three matches so now we are more confident". Starting from September we will play every three days.

"It depends upon the situation".

Sarri expatiated: "He changed the position in the pitch".
