Cam Newton and Kelvin Benjamin did not sort out their disagreement on Thursday.

Kelvin Benjamin and Cam Newton met up publicly and talked ahead of the Bills and Panthers preseason game Thursday. I don't know, man ...

Less than a week after Kelvin Benjamin blasted former teammate Cam Newton, it appears it could take a while before the hatchet gets buried.

After Benjamin's comments were published, McDermott expressed disapproval, saying Sunday (via ESPN), "There's a time and a place - I'm not saying specific to what comments were made - there's a time and place for things like that". Benjamin didn't want to talk to Newton and he didn't want to talk to reporters about Newton, saying: "I mean, I'm just moving on from it I guess". Newton followed, trying to catch up, before seeming to give up. "Looking back on it, I should've just been drafted by somebody else", Benjamin recently told The Athletic's Tim Graham. Benjamin was traded to Buffalo during the season a year ago. A first-round pick by the Panthers in 2014, Benjamin was traded to the Bills midway through last season for a pair of draft picks. That may not be the case anymore, as Newton didn't seem able to say what he wanted when approaching Benjamin in-person. Nothing to see here, just a few position battles. "I should've never went to Carolina".
