If he's jailed, will accompany him: Nawaz Sharif's mother

The photograph, which was tweeted by a Pakistani journalist, and retweeted by Nawaz Sharif's daughter, shows Maryam breaking down as her father Nawaz Sharif keeps his hand on Begum Kulsoom's forehead, hours before they head to the airport to return to Pakistan, where they would be arrested upon arrival. They would be kept at Adiala jail for 1 day and then would be transferred to Attock Fort.

Thousands of supporters are expected to congregate at the Lahore airport for the dramatic home-coming for Nawaz Sharif, a three-time prime minister who wants to campaign for his party ahead of the July 25 general elections.

The news was confirmed by Kulsoom's son, Hussain Nawaz.

The return comes a week after the accountability court verdict against them sentencing Nawaz 11-year prison, and eight years to Maryam Nawaz in the Avenfield properties case.

Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, Maryam, will be arrested at Abu Dhabi airport in United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday.

Turns out, Maryam will be the first convicted woman prisoner to be taken into custody by Pakistan's anti-corruption body, the Islamabad-based National Accountability Bureau (NAB), reported The News International.

Shehbaz Sharif and other senior leaders of the PML-N were visibly angry over the police crackdown on their party workers during a press conference held in Lahore on Thursday afternoon.

A PML-N official told Reuters that police began monitoring his house and the residences of a number of other party activists on Wednesday night.

According to Lahore's City Traffic Officer, the plan will be executed before the rally of the PML-N, while more than 200 wardens will be deputed to maintain the flow of the traffic.

While lashing out Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, PML-N president said that Imran Khan Niazi neither knows politics nor morality, he will see millions of PML-N workers will reach to welcome their leader.

"The caretaker setup is a salaried puppet", he said. He was ousted from his third term as prime minister by the Supreme Court of Pakistan a year ago following a corruption investigation and banned from politics for life but remains a powerful symbol for his ruling party.
