Chelsea legend, John Terry, has paid tribute to Antonio Conte after the Italian was relieved of his managerial duties by club on Thursday.

Conte has managed Chelsea for the last two seasons, winning a Premier League title and an FA Cup in his time there.

Conte won the Premier League in his first season and the FA Cup in May, but the team finished fifth in the league last season, missing out on Champions League qualification.

Chelsea's bitter battle with Antonio Conte could take another twist -after the Italian was left "disgusted" over his sacking as the club put the finishing touches to Maurizio Sarri's appointment as their new head coach.

"Chelsea Football Club and Antonio Conte have parted company", a statement on the club's official website read.

But Chelsea player Cesc Fabregas has thanked Conte on social media and wished him "luck for the future".

Former banker Sarri, 59, will be Chelsea's ninth full-time manager since Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003.

The former Juventus boss led Chelsea to the Premier League title in his first season in charge of the London club.

The club also believes that his deteriorating relationship with many players and him constantly bad-mouthing the club in public during press conferences means that they could get away without paying Conte his compensation. "Great man, Great manager".

Ex-Napoli coach Sarri, meanwhile, could be presented as his replacement as early as Friday, with the Blues squad already informed over the change in management.
