Lucas Torreira is set to arrive to arrive from Sampdoria to add some much needed bite to the Arsenal midfield and it could be that Gomes is given the chance to resurrect his career alongside him.

Once he has put pen to paper and completed his media duties, Torreira is expected to jet off on holiday.

It is claimed that Banega, who has a further two years left to run on his contract at Sevilla, has not even ruled out extending his deal for a further year, which would take him up to the age of 33.
