Rival GM: LeBron James would 'let the roster come together' for Lakers

The Cleveland Cavaliers are apparently willing to make big moves in free agency and on the trade market to convince LeBron James to remain with the franchise, but LeBron is making life hard for them by not discussing what would make him happy. Also a native of Southern California, George has always been thought to be eyeing a chance to join the Lakers, but his time spent with Oklahoma City may have given him second thoughts about leaving Russell Westbrook and Co. The Celtics, Cavaliers, 76ers and Clippers have all made offers for Leonard, while the Lakers never made a formal offer after feeling that the Spurs "shut the door on us", a source told ESPN. However, there appear to be some hints that he may have already made a decision, based on his reported method of delivering that news.

In terms of Philadelphia's side of the equation, they do not have two max contract slots to offer like Los Angeles does. If other teams want Leonard, then they, too, have to race the Lakers for him.

Clearly, the Lakers are playing a high stakes game, and they may be the only National Basketball Association team that is fully equipped to do so right now. They may end up being forced to surrender young assets like Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart, future first-round picks and maybe even a sign-and-trade agreement with restricted free agent Julius Randle, according to ESPN.

Once free agency starts, keep checking back to see where the top players have signed. To lessen this hypothetical blow, the Sixers and head coach Brett Brown would have to come to some sort of a verbal agreement with Leonard's camp on an extension. It is unlikely that the Cavaliers would've traded Kyrie Irving with James and George together on the Cleveland roster.

What's unique about this particular message is that it's also reportedly connected to the release, via Instagram TV, of either a trailer or documentary for the movie, "Space Jam 2", in which James will play the leading role.
