Battlefield V is getting battle royale

EA Play kicked off today with a new trailer for Battlefield V's mutliplayer.

Battlefield V is adding a multiplayer Battle Royale that will be "reimagined for Battlefield", developers announced Saturday during EA Games' press conference at E3.

It's definitely going to include vehicles which is true to Battlefield's style, but they said more news on it would trickle out later this year, perhaps indicating that it might not launch alongside the game in October. As everyone probably predicted, yes, it will be getting a battle royale mode as well. Both heavy hitters of the first-person shooter world have officially been announced with Battle Royale modes. We do know that developers are promising to bring us an "experience that we haven't had before", but we've heard that before. Battlefield V will allow gamers to shape the sandbox of war. EA revealed at that time that players will not be able to gain extra advantage by paying for premium features on an official post on the "Battlefield V" website from Senior Development Director Ryan McArthur. Battlefield V changes that up in a big way with a new focus on resource scarcity.

It was DICE's Oskar Gabrielson and Lars Gustavsson who made the announcement along with a brand new trailer for the game. These men feel threatened by the idea of a woman creating a character that looks like them to feel equally immersed in the action of Battlefield V.
