Perhaps the objective of that pre-draft visit was to learn more about the Texas A&M product's character after he was arrested back in early February, months before the draft, for disorderly conduct and property damage. They were charged with criminal damage, and the case is still pending. According to the publication, police were notified by security guards at the event, who alleged that Kirk and his friends were "high" at the time of the incident.

Before the draft, Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks said he wants players who have the right character. "Our understanding is that the process will be resolved in the near future but while it remains an active legal matter, we won't comment further", the franchise said in a statement.

The Cardinals were aware of the arrest prior to taking Kirk with the 47th overall pick in April's draft. There were no reports of Kirk ever getting into trouble in high school or college.

Kirk caught 71 passes while at Texas A&M last season, tallying 919 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
